Idaho Press Club award for Ikeda interview

Dialogue is proud to earn second place in the Public Affairs Program (TV: Studio) category at the Idaho Press Club’s Best of 2021 Awards, for our conversation at the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference with Tom Ikeda, public historian and director of Seattle-based nonprofit Densho.

Ikeda and the Densho archives provided critical research for Daniel James Brown’s book “Facing the Mountain.” His organization preserves the stories of Americans of Japanese decent during World War II. You can watch the engaging interview below, where Ikeda also talks about his parents and grandparents being imprisoned in the Minidoka camp in Idaho.

Idaho Public Television received over 20 awards in this year’s Idaho Press Club contest.
