Former state Rep. Hy Kloc passes

Former Idaho Representative Hy Kloc has passed away from a heart attack. Recently, some of my colleagues and I put together a piece about Rep. Kloc, who was born in a displaced persons camp in Germany in 1947. His parents, who were both Jewish, were living there after World War II. Rep. Kloc lost many other members of his family in the Holocaust, and spoke frequently about human rights issues.

The piece, which was screened last September in Boise in conjunction with the Ken Burns documentary, The U.S. and the Holocaust, can be viewed here. Our condolences to the family and friends of Rep. Kloc.
